Emma Waston is Winter Wonderful

Wearing an array of embellished neutral pieces, Emma Waston looks perfect with her pixie- cut on the December cover of Marie Claire magazine. Shot by Tesh and styled by Nina Garica the shoot plays with feminine separates & textured fabrics with a chic and modern edge. The 20-year-old, "Harry Potter" actress and sophomore student at Brown University opens up to Marie Claire about her transition from superstar to student:

On finding true friends at Brown:
" I threw my 20th birthday party at Brown, and I didn't even have to say to anyone not to put pictures on Facebook. Not a single picture went up. That was when I knew I'd found a solid group of friends, and I felt like I belonged."

On her sophomore year:
"Now that I know how things work and what the professors expect, I'm really excited about going back for my second year, because I feel this time I can relax and enjoy it. "

On her work ethic and Harry Potter audition:
"I started working on the audition at 9 in the morning and didn't stop until 5 in the evening," she recalled. "The tape was just me doing the same thing hundreds of times over, until I got it exactly right. I was just amazed at my stamina. The grown-ups said, 'We had to stop you; you wanted to keep going.' I've always been like that; I give 100 percent. I can't do it any other way."

Lady Gaga for Vanity Fair 2010

Lady Gaga bares all on the September cover of Vanity Fair. Here are some highlights from the interview:

On being afraid of depleting her creative energy: “I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina… I’m perpetually lonely. I’m lonely when I’m in relationships. It’s my condition as an artist… I’m drawn to bad romances. And my song ‘Bad Romance’] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. I’m quite celibate now; I don’t really get time to meet anyone.”

On reaching an all-time low when she used drugs: “I was completely mental and had just been through so much. I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don’t want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It’s in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster… All I will say is I hit rock bottom, and it was enough to send a person over the edge. My mother knew the truth about that day, and she screamed so loud on the other end of the phone, I’ll never forget it. And she said, ‘I’m coming to get you.’”

On giving the middle finger during a Yankees game: “I guess I was my true New York 24-year-old Italian girl who grew up here and how dare you set me up? I want to go to things like ball games, but when I go to the ball game, they’re going to write the story that will sell papers. Look, I’m not an idiot—I recognize that I’m a public figure and I’m going to be recognized if I’m wearing a bikini or a potato sack. The trade-off is I get to see the Yankees, and what the Yankees mean to me in my soul as a young person from New York is more important to me than my reputation in terms of the tabloids. My real fans know who I truly am, and they know what I represent and what I mean, and my music and my performance is what really speaks.” (Jerry Seinfeld called her a jerk after the incident.)

Here are some highlights from the article:

On how she is portrayed on "The City":

“It’s unfortunate (of the reputation that the TV show has given her), but I think that people understand what they see on that show is not who I am. It’s not accurate. I’m funny, I’m enthusiastic and I’m not a negative person. I always try and look for the good in things.”

On her future:

“I love New York but when you’re young you should live in different places. In five years I’d like to be living in London with my boyfriend Johannes (Huebl).”

On fashion and her love life:

“I just really, really love clothes,” Palermo enthuses as she talks of the importance of reinventing her closet for different occasions. “I’m my own brand, and I have my own opinion” she unapologetically declares when asked about her determination to succeed in the fashion industry. Olivia also gives a rare insight into her relationship with model Johannes Huebl revealing that their lifestyle is surprisingly understated. As far as what the future holds for the style queen, she claims modelling, acting, designing, and a possible move to London are all on her to-do list.
