Lady Gaga for Vanity Fair 2010

Lady Gaga bares all on the September cover of Vanity Fair. Here are some highlights from the interview:

On being afraid of depleting her creative energy: “I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina… I’m perpetually lonely. I’m lonely when I’m in relationships. It’s my condition as an artist… I’m drawn to bad romances. And my song ‘Bad Romance’] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. I’m quite celibate now; I don’t really get time to meet anyone.”

On reaching an all-time low when she used drugs: “I was completely mental and had just been through so much. I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don’t want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It’s in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster… All I will say is I hit rock bottom, and it was enough to send a person over the edge. My mother knew the truth about that day, and she screamed so loud on the other end of the phone, I’ll never forget it. And she said, ‘I’m coming to get you.’”

On giving the middle finger during a Yankees game: “I guess I was my true New York 24-year-old Italian girl who grew up here and how dare you set me up? I want to go to things like ball games, but when I go to the ball game, they’re going to write the story that will sell papers. Look, I’m not an idiot—I recognize that I’m a public figure and I’m going to be recognized if I’m wearing a bikini or a potato sack. The trade-off is I get to see the Yankees, and what the Yankees mean to me in my soul as a young person from New York is more important to me than my reputation in terms of the tabloids. My real fans know who I truly am, and they know what I represent and what I mean, and my music and my performance is what really speaks.” (Jerry Seinfeld called her a jerk after the incident.)

Lady Gaga is a Cosmo Girl

Icon-in-the-making Lady Gaga looks film- noir fantastic on the cover of the April 2010 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine. Here are some highlights from the interview:

On an ex-boyfriend: "I had a boyfriend who told me I'd never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I'd fail. I said to him, 'Someday, when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the fucking deli without hearing or seeing me".

On her career: "I ate shit for so long, being told I didn't fit the mold and that I was "too pop" or "too theater"... I've always been delusionally ambitious to the point where people don't understand me."

Gaga turned down a cocktail because she had a sold-out show to do just a few hours after the interview. She order riceless sushi and dressingless salad and said: "My friends joke that I'm dead until I get onstange. I'm dead right now as you're speaking to me"

Lady Gaga Rocks Prada and Armani

According to WWD, Prada and Aramani have created the looks for Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour in Europe. Aramani has specially designed two sparkling bodysuits, and an iridescent mini-dress and a floor length black patent trench coat as well as custom shoes and accessories. Prada on the other hand created a spectacular 18th-century- inspired hoop dress made of camel-colored shiny plastic jersey blend, very reminiscent of Marie Antoinette's attire.

Lady Gaga Graces Elle

Lady Gaga looks gorgeous on the January cover of Elle magazine in a sheer embroidered corset top and surprisingly simple make-up and hair. Shot by Tim Munro, the 23-year-old superstar takes some time to talk about her career and personal life:

On her fight to cut sexuality out from her album covers: “I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. They didn’t think the photos were commercial enough…The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself.”

On when she plans to settle down: "Eight or ten years. “I want to have babies for my Dad to hold, grandkids. And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does. I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around.”
