The Best & Worst of the 2011 Emmy's

Firey-red gowns, lace accented pieces, shimmering stunners, and what were they thinking dresses? The 2011 Emmy's had it all:

Top 5 (6) Best Dressed
Nina Dobrev was the belle of the ball in her form-fitting, mermaid style Donna Karen Resort 2011 dress. The on-trend number is by far Nina's best look on the red carpet to date.
Gwyneth Paltrow looked stunning, sexy and daring in an Emilio Pucci top & skirt number. The embroidered tulle gown with black embellishments showed off her toned midriff in a sophisticated way.

An always flawless Kate Winslet did not disappoint last night in a form-fitting cherry-red Elie Saab Resort 2012 gown. The cap-sleeved dress with a deep-v neckline showed off Kate's beautiful figure perfectly .
Evan Rachel Woods wowed on the red carpet in a shimmering embroidered Elie Saab Fall 2011 couture gown. She paired the breathtaking backless, cap-sleeved number with Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe pumps.
Claire Danes abandoned her simplistic red-carpet looks for a adventurous yet beautiful Oscar De La Renta Resort 2012 georgette sequined gown. I love everything about this dress; the pattern, the play on colors, the cut.
While red was the obvious trend on the red carpet last night, Kerry Washington killed it in a absolutely stunning Zuhair Murad gown. Made of silk tulle and embroidered with red pearls, this gown was a stand out of the evening.

The Almost There Dressed
Emily Blunt looked gorgeous in a midnight blue chiffon Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture gown with sequin embroidery at the waist. The plunging neckline dress was one of three dresses by Elie Saab on the red carpet last night.

Minka Kelly looked beautiful in a tiered Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2011 gown with lace accents. The classic yet chic look works wonderfully for Minka however I feel the navy and black gown may be "too wintery" for an event still technically in summer, especially in L.A.

Kristen Wiig has really shown off her chic red carpet fashion sense since her film 'Bridesmaids' became an international sensation. The actress/comedian looked lovely in a Zac Posen, plunging neckline gown with drape detailing on the skirt. I do love this dress and think Wiig looks beautiful, I just am off with the color.

A lot of blogs I've read have hated Katie Holmes Emmy look. To me, I really do enjoy her cobalt blue Calvin Klein jersey gown. I love the minimalist feel of the gown however I do not like the fact that it looks as if Katie just woke up 30 minutes prior, pulled her hair into a messy bun and grabbed the first belt she saw in her closet and left for the show. If this look was executed tastefully and with some effort, it could have been a knockout.

The Worst Dressed

Tonight was not a good night for the girls of Glee. I was not a fan of any of the ensembles they chose which is disappointed being a huge fan of the show and their usual red-carpet attires.

Heather Morris. The style, the color, the awful tiers, everything. It looks like a prom dress gone wrong, and makes petite Heather look bottom heavy and sad.

I was very disappointed with Dianna Agron's choice last night. Her sapphire Roksanda Ilinic gown did nothing for her. The fabric was stiff, the neckline was matronly and the entire ensemble was not flattering towards her great body. The only thing I did like was the color, however the metallic shine was not for me.
Lea Michele has worked so hard over the past year to earn the great body she has now. I don't understand why she would chose a dress that made her look top heavy and overdone. I don't hate the look, but I don't like it either. She could have done something so much more age appropriate and daring than this Marchesa gown with textured shoulders. I see someone much taller like Heidi Klum wearing this gown.

Not Glee

I am not sure what Padma Lakshmi was thinking. She literally looks like an Oscar award in this bronze Armani Prive silk gown. The dress is nice, but her skin color is actually the same as the dress making her seem like a trophy.

What were you thinking dear Zooey Deschanel? That is all.

Olivia Munn. This Carolina Herrera dress, the cut, the color as so much potential but the fit is just completely off. You can clearly see the unflattering creasing at the thigh which is so unfortunate because Olivia has a great figure. I feel as though the emerald green gown is suppose to be lose and flowing but it was just stiff and awkward on Olivia. Its not always about the size number!
